Vacuum Mixing, Dispersion & Homogenisation System for Viscous Products
These vacuum mixers with high-speed Cowles-type disperser and scraping anchor are designed for the production of creams, ointments, toothpaste, lotions, detergent products, emulsions and other viscous or thixotropic formulations.
The system combines a slow-speed scraping anchor with a high-speed vertical disperser, providing two complementary mixing actions within the same vessel. The anchor continuously moves product around the vessel and scrapes material from the vessel wall, while the high-speed disperser provides intensive mixing for dispersion, emulsification and homogenisation.
The process vessel is manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel and incorporates a jacket for controlled heating or cooling of the product. Product-contact surfaces are polished to provide a smooth internal finish and facilitate cleaning.
The high-speed disperser is installed in an inclined, off-centre position, helping create effective product circulation and dispersion throughout the vessel. The scraping anchor is fitted with PTFE (Teflon) scraper blades to minimise product build-up on the vessel walls and support efficient heat transfer through the jacket.
The vessel cover incorporates connections for vacuum-assisted charging of liquids and powders, together with a product discharge arrangement. Process monitoring equipment can include a thermometer, vacuum gauge, sight glass and internal vessel lighting.
A hydraulic system provides cover lifting and vessel tilting, helping simplify product discharge, cleaning and maintenance. The mixer is operated through a low-voltage control system incorporating appropriate operational safety functions.
Additional equipment such as a positive-displacement discharge pump, powder/liquid charging hopper, liquid-ring vacuum pump, bottom emulsifier and double-movement central agitator can be supplied according to the process requirements.
