Mechanical Seal Replacement Without Emptying the Tank
These fixed side-entry mixers are specially designed for storage tanks used in the petrochemical, refinery, chemical, and heavy process industries. Their integrated shut-off system allows the mechanical seal to be serviced or replaced while the tank remains full, without removing the complete mixer from the tank.
The front-mounted seal arrangement provides greater flexibility for demanding applications involving resins, bitumen, crude oil, refinery products, corrosive fluids, and high-temperature processes.
The mixer can accommodate different sealing arrangements according to the product and operating conditions. These can include double mechanical seals with flushing systems, auxiliary seals, and other special sealing configurations required for difficult or corrosive process fluids.
The equipment is available in stainless steel and is normally supplied with a standard mounting flange for installation on an inclined tank nozzle. An optional 7° or 10° inclined flange can be provided to eliminate the need for a separate inclined tank connection. This helps reduce installation weight and mixer projection while providing a compact, stable, and self-supporting installation.
Special materials, alternative drive arrangements, instrumentation, and ANSI or API mounting flanges can also be supplied to meet specific process requirements.
