Mechanical Seal Replacement Without Emptying the Tank
These fixed side-entry mixers are specially designed for demanding storage tank applications in the petrochemical, refinery, chemical, and heavy process industries. They combine a belt and pulley drive system with an integrated shut-off device, allowing the mechanical seal to be serviced or replaced while the tank remains full, without removing the complete mixer.
The front-mounted seal arrangement makes this mixer particularly suitable for handling resins, bitumen, crude oil, refinery products, corrosive fluids, and products operating at elevated temperatures.
Different sealing arrangements can be selected according to the product and process conditions. These may include flushed double mechanical seals, auxiliary seals, and other specialised sealing systems for high-temperature, corrosive, or difficult process fluids.
The belt-drive transmission provides a practical and flexible method of transferring power from the motor to the agitator shaft and allows the mixer speed and drive arrangement to be selected according to the application.
The mixer is available in stainless steel and is normally installed on an inclined tank nozzle. An optional 7° or 10° inclined mounting flange can be provided to simplify tank connection and reduce the need for a separate inclined nozzle arrangement. The compact, self-supporting construction provides good operational stability while reducing external projection and the need for additional supporting tie rods.
Special materials, instrumentation, variable-angle arrangements, and ANSI or API mounting flanges are also available for specific operating requirements.
