Elite Flow Control’s Trunnion Ball Valves are quarter-turn, on/off isolation valves built for the reliable shut-off of liquids, gases, and slurries in demanding pipeline and process service. Unlike a floating ball valve, where the ball is suspended between two seats and shifts downstream under line pressure to form a seal, a trunnion mounted ball is mechanically anchored at the top and bottom by integral trunnions. This fixed support carries the thrust of the line pressure through the trunnions and bearings instead of the seats, which keeps operating torque low even at large diameters and high pressure classes. Spring-energized seats are held firmly against the ball by both spring force and process pressure, giving dependable bubble-tight sealing across the full working range of the valve.
Available in sizes from 2″ to 56″ (DN50 to DN1400) across pressure classes CL150 to CL2500, these valves are engineered for the high-pressure, large-bore duties found in oil & gas production and transmission, petrochemical and refining plants, gas processing, power generation, and water systems. The trunnion design is the preferred choice wherever a floating ball would create excessive seat wear and turning effort, and it supports advanced sealing arrangements such as double block and bleed for positive isolation and in-line seat testing.
A rugged side-entry body, blow-out proof stem, and anti-static device come as standard, while a fire-safe construction tested to API 607 and API 6FA is available for hydrocarbon service. A full range of soft seat materials, including PTFE, RPTFE, Nylon, Devlon, and PEEK, ensures tight sealing across a wide span of fluids and temperatures, and metal-to-metal seated designs can be supplied for high-temperature, abrasive, or erosive conditions. Bodies and trim are produced from carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel grades to ASTM standards, so every valve can be specified precisely for its intended process environment.
